Shona MacPherson

Senior Programme Manager

Shona joined the Chamber in October 2012, initially on secondment from Jobs and Business Glasgow before becoming a permanent member of staff in 2013.

She moved into the role of Education Partnership Coordinator following two successful years as our Workforce Solutions Executive.  Shona brings a wealth of knowledge of employer engagement and stakeholder management. Working with partners in the city including Glasgow City Council and Skills Development Scotland, she helped members recruit young people into their business while helping them access over £280,000 in funding.

She holds a postgraduate diploma in Careers Guidance and Development and has a sound understanding of the career support available in the city. Her new role will involve building stronger links between businesses and schools as well as making it easier for businesses to recruit young people straight from education. She will manage our Inspiring500 project, encouraging individuals from the business community to mentor young people in school and work to improve the work experience for young people.

Shona can regularly be found in the gym where she enjoys spin classes and boxercise as well as hill walking at the weekends.  She enjoys socialising with friends, good food and city breaks.  Originally from Benbecula, she loves going back home to see her family and friends.
