City of Glasgow College Open Day (Glasgow school pupils)

City of Glasgow college are holding an open day on Thursday 7 March (1-3pm) –  solely for Glasgow city school pupils  who want to progress onto further learning either at College or University.

This event is ideal for any Young Person who is thinking of College or University to study Social Science or Business  that may not have the University entry qualifications.

This route is an ideal articulation course.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS (both offer direct entry into 3rd year at Strathclyde without the need to apply to UCAS)

Social Sciences Diploma

  • Three Highers, one at Grade C and two at Grade B, which must include Higher English (or ESOL equivalent) and one other Higher in a social science subject from the following list only: Modern Studies, Sociology, Politics, Psychology, History, Economics, Philosophy or Religious, Moral and Philosophical Studies

Business Course Diploma

  • Three Highers, two at Grade B and one at Grade C in relevant* subjects including English AND two National 5 qualifications at Grade C or above including Mathematics; OR
  • Other equivalent qualifications – these include Administration, Business Management, Economics, Geography, History, Mathematics, Modern Studies or Natural Sciences

City of Glasgow College  also consider young people  that have just missed out on the grades so long as they interview well and can convinced they have what it takes.

This College route is about giving young people  the opportunity to achieve with the additional support then allowing articulation into 3rd year at Strathclyde University.

City of Glasgow College will cover the above and explain these courses and how articulation works at this event.
