Enterprise Challenge – All Saint’s
School: All Saints Secondary
Type of Activity: Challenges and Competitions
Name of Employer: King’s Trust
Case Study
From Periods 1-5, 45 S3 pupils participated in the King’s Trust Enterprise Challenge. This first started with the staff giving an overview on what the enterprise challenge consists off. Pupils were then divided into groups of 9 and were tasked with both creating and running a business on the Trusts online business simulation game. For the final game, each groups point score were recorded.
After pupils were finished with playing the game, they were then tasked within their groups with the final challenge of either using the business that they created during the simulation game or come up with a new business idea and make up a pitch for their business. Once each group had come up with a business idea, they then had to pitch this idea as a group to the rest of the class.
At the end of the session, pupils were told that staff will be in touch with what group they have picked for the best pitch portraying their well thought out business idea and that group will be able to progress on to the next stage of the enterprise challenge which will be to create a business plan surrounding their original business idea and how this could be carried out with the support of the Kings Trust staff.
