Barclays B in Tech (26 April)

• Join Barclays for our “B in Tech” event to inspire our next generation of technologists!
• Target group – S2 pupils
• The world runs on code!  So, if you learn to code, you can have a fun, well-paid and interesting job for life!
• Event format:
  • 10am arrival at Barclays world-class Glasgow campus in Tradeston
  • Talks from inspirational industry leaders in the Barclays Technology team, explaining what it’s like to work in Tech
  • Pupils split into 3 groups to rotate around the following activities:
    • A tour of the Barclays Eagle Lab, where tech innovators and digital creators work on the latest, greatest tech
    • A tour of the Barclays workspace, showing what it’s really like to work in tech (we don’t just hide in dark rooms writing code!)
    • A fun, practical coding activity – even if you’ve never coded before, this is a great chance to try some fun coding games with Barclays coders
  • Lunch provided
  • Hear from Graduate Apprentices who work in Technology at Barclays, and why they chose an apprenticeship
  • Depart – 2pm
• Capacity: 90 pupils maximum for each event (plus at least 9 school staff to maintain the 1:10 staff:pupil ratio)
• The agenda and activities can be varied to accommodate a shorter visit if there are time constraints for return to school
