Case Study

Neil Webster, Head of Client Services from Everwarm Group came to Cardinal Winning secondary to deliver some workshops to the senior pupils. Every year group had a tailored workshop to learn about the sector, different job roles, how to access different career patterns and how to progress. The workshop showed how this sector, predominantly populated by men, can be accessible to women as well. The pupils learned about the company and watched a video of two young people who started a couple of years ago in the company. This was very good as the pupils can relate better to other young people.

Objectives
The experience was really good for the young people and very successful, especially for those interested in a career in this industry.

Results/Outcome
All the young people are more aware of career patterns and job opportunities in the sector.

Benefits
This experience taught them about the world of work and the different jobs that are available in the construction and more specifically in the insulation business. It also helped them to gain confidence in approaching someone from the world of work. It is not always easy for young people to speak with adults who are not friends, family or staff in their school, so every opportunity is always very important.
