Glasgow’s pupils have recorded their ‘best ever’ positive destination figures
Glasgow’s pupils have recorded their ‘best ever’ positive destination figures with a record 97.1% young people leaving school last year to go to either higher and further education, employment, or training.
The data, released annually by Skills Development Scotland (SDS), highlight that the figures, for the second year in a row are above the national average of 95.7%.
Four of Glasgow’s schools – Lochend High, St Roch’s Secondary, Glasgow Gaelic Secondary and Hyndland Secondary – have achieved 100% destinations for their senior phase pupils.
Councillor Christina Cannon, convener for education, communities and equalities, said: “Glasgow’s positive destination figures are just great to see, especially after the last three very challenging years and the impact the pandemic has had on our young people.”
A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to this record-breaking figure! DYW Glasgow are delighted to work with amazing partners across the city region to help achieve these results. Let’s continue working together to make an impact on young people’s lives and help them go to a positive destination!
