Paid Work Placements Events
Glasgow Chamber of Commerce and GCVS are delighted to invite you to join us at two bespoke events designed to help employers and organisations gain a greater understanding of the skills and qualifications landscape with regards to identifying, recruiting and nurturing new talent.
Firstly we have ‘Scotland Works for You: Helping employers recruit fairly’. This session is being facilitated by Disclosure Scotland and focuses around one of the most misunderstood and interesting aspects of society, the recruitment of individuals who have been touched by the criminal justice system. This session will shine a light on what convictions and disclosure processes actually mean, explaining and highlighting the myths and stereotypes attached to criminal justice and recruitment and also challenge conscious and unconscious bias that we may hold against individuals at this stage.
The second is ‘Understanding Qualifications for Better Recruitment’ with the Scottish Credit & Qualifications partnership who will explain why there is a huge push to promote the value of the skills that make up a qualification as opposed to the qualifications alone, the reasons for this, what those skills and qualifications look like and how you can break them down and understand them to make sure that you recruit the most suitable people for your roles based on ability and learned experience.
Both of these sessions will be invaluable in allowing you to think about recruitment in a whole different way, access talent that you may previously have overlooked and find out what support is available pre, during and post-recruitment.
