The Glasgow Business Awards returns for its 26th year of celebrating Glasgow’s brightest and best
Following last year’s silver anniversary, entries are now open for The 26th Glasgow Business Awards hosted by Glasgow Chamber of Commerce. The awards are the highlight of the city’s business calendar and celebrate the successes of our business community over the past 12 months.
The black-tie ceremony returns to DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow Central on Thursday 3 October 2024, with The Herald as media partner alongside a number of other category sponsors.
The Awards comprise 14 competitive categories which recognise and champion areas from innovation, leadership and business excellence to community wealth building and sustainability. This year, two new categories have been introduced – Inspiring Future Talent and Best Use of Digital Technology.
The most prestigious accolade, The Glasgow Business Award for Most Outstanding Business, will be presented to one of the winners of the competitive categories.
Glasgow’s Favourite Business, sponsored by The Herald’s sister publication, Glasgow Times, and voted for by the public, will also return. Submissions can be made over the coming weeks with the shortlist revealed over the summer for the public to then decide who receives the title on the night.
The Glasgow Chamber of Commerce Award for Lifetime Achievement is the final accolade of the evening, celebrating the contributions of some of the most inspiring business leaders in Glasgow. Previous recipients have included Dr Bridget McConnell CBE; Eddie Hawthorne, CEO of Arnold Clark and Professor Pamela Gillies CBE from Glasgow Caledonian University.
Richard Muir, Deputy Chief Executive of Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, said: “We are immensely proud of The Glasgow Business Awards. The evening serves as a much-needed reminder that our city is home to a strong array of fantastic businesses, representing a broad range of sectors and services.
“We continually explore how we can strengthen the Awards which is why we have created two new categories – Inspiring Future Talent and Best Use of Digital Technology. We are confident these will resonate with organisations and look forward to receiving their entries.”
Sponsorship opportunities are available.
Entry deadline – 21 June 2024.
