Case Study
The DYW Coordinator organised a visit for an Arnold Clark female apprentice to come to school to host an assembly for S3 girls. This was in collaboration with the Automotive 30% club – an initiative set up to encourage more female representation in the automotive industry. Their mission is to have at least 30% of the automotive workforce made up of women by 2030. The apprentice spoke about her experiences of working for Arnold Clark and working in what is still a male-dominated sector. She also told the pupils about all the different roles available at Arnold Clark.
Objectives
To increase awareness of sector awareness in young women and encourage them to consider a career in the automotive industry.

Benefits
The pupils now have a greater understanding of women in the automotive industry and the benefit of considering careers that they may not have considered before.
