Glasgow Regional Opportunities for Work
GROW is one of Scotland’s most ambitious employability programmes. Breaking away from traditional work experience, GROW is about building aspirations, breaking down barriers and creating real connections between employers, schools and communities.
Backed by investment from JPMorgan Chase and delivered by Glasgow City Region DYW groups, GROW gives businesses the chance to influence the future workforce, showcase their sector and make a lasting impact.
What is GROW?
GROW is a business-led regional skills programme which supports young people from lower socio-economic backgrounds make informed decisions about their future through multiple, meaningful interactions with employers. These practical insights give young people the confidence to picture themselves in the world of work by opening doors to a wide range of sectors.
GROW is a fully supported programme. We handle the logistics, safeguarding and health & safety, and every visit is accompanied by a dedicated youth worker. That means employers can focus on what matters most: inspiring young people and showcasing real career opportunities.
Every session hosted by an employer helps a young person move closer to a sustainable career and helps Glasgow build a stronger, more inclusive economy.
What will GROW deliver?
40,000+ hours of work inspiration through co-ordinated site visits of ten S3 young people.
700+ young people tackling inequality across the Glasgow City Region through inclusive experiences for SIMD 1 & 2 schools.
250 employers across digital, renewables, finance, housing, health, hospitality and creative industries.
A two-year programme with 13 engagement points designed to inspire, prepare and connect.
